➸ AASPIRE Healthcare Toolkit

We have worked on this for years. Years. This contains a questionnaire, the Personalized Accommodations Report that auto-generates a letter from an autistic person or caregiver to a doctor, informing them and explaining about accommodations we need. We did this after determining that autistic people have worse healthcare experiences than both nondisabled people and other disabled people. Then we tested the questionnaire itself.

Try it if it seems useful to you. Signal boost if you can. We are trying to get publicity for this and I know I have over 2000 followers (which shocked me). There is not just the questionnaire, but also info and resources for autistic people, family, caregivers, and doctors.

Anyway, I know some of y’all don’t like me but this isn’t about me. It’s about autistic people getting better healthcare. Which can mean not dying. Same if you don’t like ASAN, which was very involved, at least its members were. Get over your personal grudges before you make a decision whether this is good or bad. (I have criticisms myself but none so big I would denounce an entire project over them.)

Anyway — we worked our asses off, we are proud of ourselves, but most importantly we’ve seen this work. I plan to use it with my doctors, that’s how much I like it.
