Honestly, I’m tempted to just say fuck the concept of safe space. Show me one that actually exists and I’ll show you why it isn’t actually “safe” in some way or another.
Not trying to be deliberately dickish about this, but I find the assumption that such a space could conceivably exist in the real world to painfully naive.
When I hear “safe space”, I run in the opposite direction as fast as my little legs will carry me. It’s not just that it’s not safe. It’s that the people who call it safe make it unsafe for me. As in, really, physically unsafe. Not this new-dangled definition of safe that means “everyone agrees with me”.
