Here is a list of companies that will hire felons. Please share this and repost if you know of people who are looking to better their lives and work.

I was about to get really mad because I thought you were gonna say shit about people that are just trying to make some kind of living but then I read that and thank you so much for actually caring

Reposting again…even though i did a few days ago.

i love my company cause we hire felons. one guy was still locked up and got to leave and work for us during the days. now he is doing well and still with us at the grill. and another dude has a tear drop tattoo and looks so hard but he is the one to yell at the other guys when they make sexist remarks, and he is supporting both his daughters.
good people do bad things, good people get framed

I don’t know if this has been done or not yet, but this is an important post
so I’m going to try to do something here
Please note that I have not verified this list as that is not something I am able to do at the moment

Thank you.

I understand why they do background checks for caregivers in the DD field. But one, I don’t think it weeds out abuse that much at all. And two, there’s lots of felonies that have nothing to do with whether someone would make a good caregiver. I wouldn’t want to hire someone who was looking for a good way to steal from me, or someone who was going to abuse me physically or sexually, or anyone with a specific history of harming disabled people. Because there are people who seek out these jobs for those reasons.

But I also have had staff who were felons (some convicted, some not) and were actually in some cases some of the best staff I’ve ever had. So I don’t think automatically weeding out felons is a good idea in this job. They should have some way of doing things that weeds people out for real who are most likely to do harm. The background checks they do remind me of security theater. And obviously they’re not doing a very good job weeding people out given the abuse rate is sky high.
