Damn I can’t remove that annoying “please don’t scroll past” thing from the Android app. But I want to respond. Sorry to anyone I inflict that line on.

There was one set of math material (trig/algebra) that I took four times from four different teachers and got four totally different grades and assessments of my ability with the material. All the way from “you should never have been allowed to take this class” to “you have a natural gift for the subject”. My first and third trig teachers mocked me in front of the class, belittled me, and the first one threw me out after I went into a confused shutdown state when he changed the schedule at the last minute. He publicly accused me of doing drugs, laughed at me in front of the class, and then told me I was no longer welcome in his classroom.

Those aren’t my only spectacularly bad teacher experiences but they are the first ones that come to mind. I’ve been told everything from that I shouldn’t take math to that I have a natural gift and should major in it (which I tried and didn’t work, it’s hard when you have both talents and learning disabilities affecting the same subject area)
