Dare: Text your best friend and tell them why they’re your best friend.

This one always makes me a little sad when it comes up on the truth or dare gum wrappers. Because almost all of the dares are things that would either be difficult or highly embarrassing. I think they see this as embarrassing, like opening up your emotions to a friend is supposed to be embarrassing or something.

I can say right here that the reason my best friend (Anne) is my best friend, is because we have so much in common that we can communicate on levels I can’t communicate with anyone, she makes me feel less alone in the world, I love being able to experience the world through her eyes and vice versa, I love the fact that she is doing things that I want to do and can’t due to disability-related reasons mostly, there’s so many reasons and none of them are embarrassing. In fact they’re so not-embarrassing that I’m putting this in a public post and not a text.
