Aamjiwnaang First Nation has been dubbed the most polluted place in North America by National Geographic. These two sisters who call Aamjiwnaang their home and have a deep love for the land have be ignored in their fight for justice against big industry. Give this short documentary a watch and if you’re interested in supporting the cause, click HERE.

Remember when they found a literal football feild of toxic sludge in the St. Clair river (which is a nearby river) and the petrochemical companies who’s refineries were the most likely cause of the toxic sludge just went “we don’t know how that toxic sludge got into that protected lake” (it used to be protected up until the massive lake protection cut from c-38, but that wouldn’t matter because this is literally decades before c-38. Anyway) and government after government just kind of shrugged their shoulders and went “well the petrochemical companies say they don’t know and they’re completely honest so we just don’t know how that toxic sludge got there” so they fenced off the length of the St. Clair river and no one can fish there because all the fish are toxic or dead but mostly dead. It’s bad.
