I swear, in this household, jury-rigging isn’t this thing you do once in awhile in an absolute pinch, it’s a frigging way of life.

(Photo shows a drainage bag with three different modifications made to make it last months longer than the one-day usage it’s rated for.  Because it costs $70-80 and even then I’m going through them too fast at the moment.)

The modifications are the “condom” over the drain spout to keep in small amounts of extra leakage, the velcro that holds the whole thing upside down so the drain spout is on top (because even the condom can’t hold an entire bag’s worth of leakage if it was on the bottom), and in this case, duct tape to hold the Velcro on because whoever bought the Velcro didn’t buy the industrial-strength stuff it takes to stick to one of these.
