Panthera:  Protection for Small Cats

Of the 38 species of wild cats, not all are iconic predators like the tiger or lion - most species are as small as house cats and seldom seen even by the conservation scientists who study them. However, many are keystone species that, despite their small size and low numbers, are critical to balanced ecosystems.

Read a Modern Cat magazine article to learn about the unique traits and threats facing four of the world’s small cats - the Andean Cat, Sand Cat, Black Footed Cat, and the Flat-headed Cat.
