Asking for your help but not demanding it or anything.

So I’ve discovered that moving is expensive. You lose things. You break things. You discover that your new home, or the living situation it’s in, requires new or different things. And while you could afford one or two of these things, there’s way more than one or two things, it could take a year to buy everything on top of the normal expenses I’m incurring right now from moving and from changing my name and the ever-present unending medical bills.

So I’ve set up a wish list for my new apartment on Amazon. It’s here:

New Apartment Wish List

Here’s the bare URL:

You’ll find a range of items from absolute necessities to decorative frivolities. That’s because I don’t subscribe to the idea that poor people should only get the basics. However you may have your own philosophies on the matter, and there’s wide enough variety to keep nearly anyone of any philosophy satisfied with at least something.

Also note that just because something is pretty doesn’t mean it’s not necessary. The house needs all the night lights it can get, to save electricity and because it’s an irregular shape people would be safer than in total darkness. If the night lights happen to look like flowers or mushrooms… that’s because functional and beautiful are not opposites.

I’ll be adding things as I discover more things that are needed around here (my bet is on stuff to expand my storage space, but that requires carefully taking measurements and I haven’t unpacked the tape measure yet).

TL;DR: I need help with buying things for the new house, both decorative things and functional things as well as things that are both at once. I could afford one or two things (and have already bought way more than one or two, and still need to buy some secondhand furniture) but not everything. So I’m asking anyone inclined to help, to check out my new apartment wish list on Amazon. I’ll keep adding stuff as I discover more things I need or want. Nobody is obligated to buy anything and I won’t look down on people who don’t or can’t.
