dynastylnoire: venus-in-virgo: My name is Brooke. I’m a single mother of 2 trying to avoid eviction scheduled to take place on December 17, 2014. Recently my financial situation got really bad all of a sudden. I was already behind on rent because shortly after I moved into my apartment I was fired from my job for absolutely no reason. Then I had to wait for my unemployment to kick in which threw my budget off. Now, I work part time for a small company which, as it is, isn’t enough to cover my bills. Last month my job shorted my check twice and I’m still waiting for them to fix it. I usually get food stamps but I never received a re-determination letter so they were cut off. Since that happened a good portion of money I do have had been going to tiny bits of groceries. …I haven’t been really eating to make sure my daughter has enough. Apparently it takes 30 days for the department of social services to reinstate a case and get people their benefits so I’ll be waiting almost until Christmas before I see a positive food stamp balance. My ex-husband hasn’t paid a full child support payment in about 2 months (which was only a month after he started paying again after not paying for almost 2 years)… AND THE LAST PAYMENT HE MADE WAS ONLY $2!!!! I was originally going to make a go fund me to help get a vehicle so I could get a better paying, (and hopefully) full-time job and so my 5 yr old daughter and I could see my 8 yr old son, who doesn’t live with us (it takes 2+ hours on the bus to get to him), more often. But now I just need to keep a roof over my daughter’s head (and have a home for my son to come visit) and send her to school with a decent lunch. If everyone who comes across this post contributed $2-$5 I would reach my goal and get to keep my apartment this winter.
