fromchaostocosmos asked: I just had the strangest realization hit me right now: whenever I talk with goyim about various things & we talk about an actor/famous person/invention or anything like that the famous person/inventor/whatever is Jewish I will always say did you know that so and so in Jewish? I'm usually asked why do I need to always mention that the person is Jewish & never had a answer till now it is because if don't acknowledge then no one will I mean just look at Einstein & the Jewish erasure done by goyim

natalunasans:

i always do that and i didn’t know why i did it but i also didn’t really wonder why i did it.

like i tell my students “did you know jeans were invented by a Jewish cowboy?!  Levi Strauss! like the brand name… he was a real guy and he was Jewish.” etc. and they all kinda stare at me like okaaayyyy…

but i’m always happy when i find out some celebrity i already liked is Jewish. (like the other day when @tikunolamorgtfo posted that about Sophie Okonedo) … and it seems slightly irrational, like, i wouldn’t, sort of, like them less if they were some other ethnicity?!

but i guess yeah the erasure is a thing.

like once (when i used to work at a larger university than where i currently teach) i had a student who was kind of aware of what the Holocaust had been about but she sort of missed the end bit, where Hitler didn’t succeed, right?  like she thought Jews didn’t exist anymore, were… extinct?  and i was so shocked.

and i sort of got upset but maybe not angry at her, just… in general?  and i said, “ok look, i’m sort of Jewish” (i never know what to say because i had only one Jewish grandfather) “and just in this department there are 2 other Jews and i’ll take you over to Psychology and there’s another prof there that’s Jewish, ok, we’ll go all over campus, i’ll show you the Jews, that they are alive, they exist, and that Hitler did not manage to do that!”
