Anonymous asked: Is that a cross around your neck or some other symbol? And what does it mean? It is OK if you don't want to say.

It’s an ankh with a djed pillar in the middle of it, both from Ancient Egypt.  Here’s some Wikipedia links on the symbols, they’re not as thorough as they could be but they get the point across.  My friend, a jeweler, got it for me when she saw it for sale online, because she thought I could use the stability represented by the Djed pillar, when I was falling apart over father’s impending death.  And the reminder of life with the Ankh.  And the combined symbolism of the two together has a lot of meaning that I’d have trouble articulating, but it was absolutely perfect for what I needed, and still need, to get me through this. Stability and eternal life are terrible glosses, but I’m not up to explaining it, so here’s Wikipedia’s take on things:
