Assistive tech in iOS

Someone asked me where I got the sleep charting software.  It’s in the app store and it’s called “Sleep Gadget”.

Other assistive tech (whether designed for that purpose or not) that I’m trying out right includes:

  • iPrompts
  • Flip Writer
  • Time Timer
  • CW Calendar
  • Visual Planner
  • Ruminate

I wish that I had something that combined the best aspects of CW Calendar with Visual Planner.  i like the look and feel of Visual Planner much more. It doesn’t feel as much like something designed for use by children.  But I like the way that in month view, on CW Calendar you can see all the pictures for each day.  Whereas in Visual Planner you only see a star if something is happening that day (and since I’m using it for staffing, something’s happening every day) and you have to click on it to see the pictures.

I haven’t had the chance to set up iPrompts yet but I seriously think if I can get help setting it up, then I’ll be able to set up videos that I can mirror to get through tasks, lessening my reliance on staff, and increasing my ability to train new staff who could learn from it too.  It also has a way to use it that’s a static sequence of images.

Also, does anyone know an iPad app that does the following:

  • Acts kind of like a to-do list
  • But actually prompts you to open the app and look at it
  • So that, for instance, if I need to talk to a staff person at a certain time of day, to help me get something done, it will alert me to go get that staff person to help me with the to-do list (both making the list and executing it)

I can’t find anything other than conventional to-do lists and it’s getting aggravating.
