Fat accessibility.
I had a fat guy over this weekend. I’m fat, but I’m not within the range where I need furniture of unusual weight capacity (not that this stops the hospital from seeing my big belly, not bothering to weigh me, and putting me in bari beds and bari wheelchairs, the latter of which could comfortably fit two of me side by side).
Anyway, I quickly realized that there was nowhere he could safely sit. So I’ve put a reasonably priced 800-pound capacity chair (much bigger than him, but he can’t be the only fat person I’ll ever have in my house, especially since disabled people tend to run either fat or thin – plus, I’ve usually had the best luck with items that are rated way above my weight, rather than exactly on it) on my “New Apartment” wishlist on Amazon. I might at some point be able to afford it, but I’ve had some money go missing so not today. And I really want fat visitors (whether friends or staff) to be comfortable in my apartment.
