Can’t explain. Try reading the whole poem. May or may not help: E.E. Cummings was famous for taking words that shouldn’t go together and making ideas or images or feelings out of the bare minimum words. I only wish to write a tenth as well someday.

If anyone else wants to take a stab go ahead. What I like about this poet is his ability to evoke wholly wordless concepts by combining words in novel ways.
