Anonymous asked: I don't know how long ago you posted that toilet phobia post but when I read it I was very surprised because that is exactly my experience. I've always hated the sound of a flushing toilet, especially some public toilets as they are so loud and 'unknown' (I got used to the sound of the toilet at home). And I also had favourite toilets in places I went to often. However I haven't been diagnosed with autism so I'm not sure if I can help you but it was so strange to read something I could have said

There’s a lot of things that are shared between autistic and nonautistic people, so I’m not actually surprised.  (That’s part of where the “cousin” concept comes from.  It’s an acknowledgement that the borders of autism and other conditions are fuzzy.)
