for a community filled at least to some part with people who have autism, or adhd, or various problems relating to memory

there sure is a lot of emphasis placed on remembering the url of every single person who’s ever been called out and remembering to check every single name on every post to make sure you’re not reblogging something they posted

and then inevitably failing and having people vague about how you evidently don’t care about what the person did when you just didn’t have the processing power to notice something

Yes omg we all make mistakes, please cut people some slack!
Also be mindful that people like me with ADD sometimes get brainfails or reblog things quickly without looking at source! Luckily I’ve only ever had kind people telling me (usually privately) when I’ve made a mistake or reblogged something I didn’t realise was horrible, so I’d like to reiterate that this is probably the best way to deal with it. Yelling at us publically for making a mistake is really anxiety-inducing and embarrassing.

In another online group I belong to, there actually came a point at which an autistic woman with not-insignificant cognitive issues was asking, genuinely, if she should start keeping a list of everyone who was bad to reblog from so that no one would get mad at her.

And silently I just thought, “Can we take note of what this has come to?”

Omg that’s horrible. And I’m mad because I’d probably make some people’s lists for reasons that are just stupid.
