“There are several ways to manage a chicken system in an urban setting.”
—Scott Kellogg & Stacy Pettigrew, Toolbox for Sustainable City Living
I know they’re trying to do a good thing here, but sentences like this make me roll my eyes and laugh my ass off at the same time. (I grew up with chickens, and if I’d told my dad, who grew up on a farm, about “managing chicken systems”, I don’t know whether he’d laugh or cuss. But my favorite line from this book so far is “chickens as space heaters”.)
