Hello! my name is Melanie Hannah White and this is my story! 

I am 15 years old, and have Gastroparesis. My stomach is paralyzed and works 0% many people stare at me because of my feeding-tube in my nose. I’ve been begging doctor’s for a GJ-tube for month’s now and they are not willing to give me one, saying I can’t handle the pain of the surgery. 

I have heard people whisper the most disgusting hurtful things about me and this tube “I don’t know what that is, but that’s disguising” they even assume it is body jewelry asking if it is a “piercing”. 

Very rarely someone will ask me what is wrong with me realizing I have a condition, I am thankful to those few kind souls. But the staring and whispering hurts, it kills me inside every time when I’ve forgotten all about the feeding-tube in my nose. And they are always there to remind me once again of it. 

I am pretty self-conscious about it so it hurts pretty badly to have others say such things and give such dirty looks.
