Anonymous asked: Our "white culture" has allowed you to live the way you do with technology and the comforts of our society. You repeatedly say how a lot of you live like us, so I would say that you are benefitting from white society. You said in a previous post how so many traditional tribes are still living in poverty yet you have access to Internet and everything else that your people wouldn't have.. So you can cry cultural appropriation, but then don't go and reap the benefits from our white society :) :)

lol I’ve had a lot of really stupid anonymous comments in my inbox… But this is by far the stupidest one I have ever read. Your ignorance is both amusing and terrifyingly unsettling. You sound just as bad as the ignorant “settlers” that first came here… And clearly the education system and your own parents are failing you miserably in life if you’re seriously walking around with this attitude. Please tell your mom and dad to do us all a favor and NEVER procreate ever again.

Normally I would just delete a comment like this and not give a person like this the satisfaction of a response my page, but I actually think this is a perfect example for everyone to see, of how white people try to justify taking over our land and mass genocide of innocent people, and how not teaching these things in schools is a serious issue because people are this delusional. Because if this person actually knew anything about life in general, they would know none of the materialistic things they just mentioned were a contribution in any way when compared to everything our people lost.
“Oh, we have Internet now”, so I should be thanking these white people for showing up?! lol You know what we had before white people came, clean water, green landscapes, thriving communities, and none of our Nation’s animals were on the verge of extinction. We were free people to go where we wanted, and stay where we wanted. But thank you white people for coming to our land and deciding what area’s were “pretty enough” to be labeled as “National Parks” that they charge people money just to get into to “enjoy nature”. They force people to pay just to go fishing, before your people came here, fishing was free. Your people tainted our food with preservatives and GMO’s, which the government and agencies they established like the FDA KNOW cause health problems. But everything in America is done with a slide of hand as a big money-making extravaganza.
If you actually knew anything, you ridiculous little anon, you would know that ultimately Native Americans haven’t benefited from the “white man’s civilization”. Our cultures were nearly destroyed. White people were so dishonest that they blatantly ignored the treaties they signed with our people and we ended up with little bits of land that some of us weren’t accustomed to. We lost our traditional diets and had government commodity foods forced upon us which intern gave many of us diabetes, cancers and other health issues that none of us had ever had before. Let’s not forget that white people were so dirty when they got here that they literally spread all their diseases onto Native people, killing thousands of us. They spread their bad white man habits like alcoholism and drug addiction onto us.
Clearly you’ve never read any of the posts on my page, because if you had, you would know the issues and injustice Native people face, especially with the way white people are destroying our environment. You say you saw my post where I explained that many Native Ameican’s live in poverty, but you think because some of us live in homes with WiFi access, we have somehow been benefited? lol Grow up.

Nope. The main difference at that point was who had felt a need to develop what kinds of projectile weapons, to use against their neighbors.

Colonists couldn’t even keep themselves fed at first. They sometimes resorted to cannibalism, when the locals got exasperated and stopped giving them food.
I wouldn’t want to brag that much, if those were my cultural ancestors.

AND

If white people hadn’t been and didn’t continue to be, on a collective issue, such assholes, then this technology still would’ve been developed, but without all the genocide and murder and general hell-on-earth that the OP is trying to justify. Not only that, these technologies didn’t just come from white people. They came from collaborations between all kinds of people, and continue to come from collaborations with all kinds of people, including every sort of person of color on the planet (except the few lucky ones who have managed to deliberately evade white people to this day). There was no reason that contact between white people and people of color/indigenous people had to go so badly – white people made it go badly. If it hadn’t gone badly, the technologies still would’ve been developed and shared between cultures without all the nasty parts that continue to go into making and distributing them.

And why “technology” is considered a white thing, I don’t really get. Indigenous people were the first to share their technology with white people when white people came over here. Not the other way around. And even the high tech world of today is hardly a “white only thing”. You could eliminate all the white people and the technology would still have been invented. In fact, a lot of people of color were involved in inventing this technology and then got written out of history by white people.

Why the OP didn’t think of any or all of that, I have no clue. I’m white and it was the first thing that occurred to me, and I don’t think I’m especially well-informed about these issues (which is why I usually stay out of these discussions, but FFS OP, that was so far out of line).
