courageous--me asked: Is it mysoginistic if someone says that cooking is "Women's work"? My grandpa and dad just said this, explaining that it had something to do with nature's design (they referred to the hunter-gatherer times and how women had to look after the young and cook while the men hunted).

Yes, it is.  Gender roles are not “nature’s design”, they’re man-made.

There’s scientific evidence that suggests men stayed home and looked after the children while women explored, painted cave walls, and gathered roughly 80% of their food, nuts and herbs and shit.

As for hunting, they all went out and hunted together when they were ready.

There’s no evidence suggesting women took care of the home while men killed things, explored, and did cave paintings. None.

Sexism is a modern societal invention. It has jack to do with human nature.

As a matter of fact, modern hunter-gatherer societies practice gender equality, and usually non-binary and other LGBT+ acceptance to boot.
