Clearly reproductive rights are extremely important but that doesn’t define what being a woman is. 

honestly the exclusion of trans women from reprod. rights discourse is fucked to hell. like, “this class of women is forcibly sterilised to access healthcare” would be a massive reprod rights issue if it were happening to cis women, so

that too 

except it does happen to cis women, routinely. and mainstream feminism ignores us too

it’s just that those cis women who are medically and reproductively abused are intellectually or physically disabled, or undocumented immigrants, or below the poverty line and usually trying to access the right to conceive and parent

mainstream feminism sucks re:the majority of women

it’s also fucked up that as far as I know, you have to go through largely transphobic “women’s health” clinics for reproductive health if you are dfab. Like I have panic attacks every time my birth control is running out because I am not a woman and am about to have to subject myself to the most painful kind of misgendering I ever experience so I can keep myself out of the ER from cysts.

not identifying as a woman doesn’t stop me from getting the “all women want babies” lecture when asking about being sterilized, because I’m non-binary and want to be for the sake of my dsyphoria. The way the system is set up now the only women who can be sterilized without a fight are the ones who are non-consensually because if they think you are a girl you don’t really have rights over your own body.
