I had a long draft written of a post on why the LGBT+ community (such as it is) sucks and is terrible and how to make it less so and then Firefox crashed and deleted it but it doesn’t matter because it wasn’t going to change anything, everyone’s going to keep hating everyone who identifies differently than they do, and the only people who win are blowhards who get adoring internet armies of young scared LGBT+ people who have been taught that everyone else in the umbrella hates them and the only way to be accepted is to stick to their own kind and defend their territory against people who aren’t exactly like them.

I’m so tired of how everyone hates everyone else, and we get truscum and TERFs and anti-lesbian bi tumblr, homophobic aces, anti-ace lgb tumblr, baddelcrew, the bi/pan wars, et cetera, in some sort of terrible LGBT+ balkanization, because a small seed of hate becomes a large infection. A young person says to themselves, “I think I’m lesbian/gay/bi/trans/pan/ace/etc,” and then they find not acceptance within the community but a battleground.

Worst case scenario, one of the adults who shouts the loudest is gathering young victims, either for themselves or another adult they’ve chosen to defend, and I can’t even say anything about this other than it happens too often and we all need to stop.
