Glamour
Just spent ages explaining the difference between surfaces and underlying realities in a discussion of why banning skin shock and destroying the JRC is wonderful but won’t get rid of the thousands of other institutions in the USA alone many of which are just as bad. Ended by saying that perceiving the real that lies beneath “glamour” (mythological idea, magic that makes things appear different than they are) is the most important skill a person can have who cares about justice (or whatever you call it). Otherwise you just get “the same old book with a brand new cover”. Now I’m beyond wiped out from writing all that. Really is true that most people see the writing but not the hell it puts me through or the results or how I am when I’m not writing.
