➸ Disambiguation post: On Language Dickery

My ability to write certain stuff here has ranged from constricted to paralyzed lately. Where lately means for at least a month. Please read the above link if you want to know why.

Some of the language dickery has been blatant, like what was discussed in the last post. Some of it has been more subtle and pervasive in the entire climate in certain parts of tumblr, even among many of those who think they’re against that kind of thing.

Whatever it is, a friend pointed out that my writing seemed to be dodging and weaving in a pattern that’s unlike me. From trying my hardest to avoid colliding with language that’s off-limits for various reasons well described in amorpha’s post above. I’m trying to get back to where I’m not doing that but it’s hard because like them, I’m easily manipulated in some ways whether the manipulation is conscious or not.
