[The redwood my family knows as the Mother Tree. It’s a big redwood, although it’d be medium sized in a purely old growth forest. It’s slightly out of focus. You can see something hanging down on the left that’s attached to a reiteration higher up. And you can see the burls at the bottom of the tree. There’s a red light leak in the top left corner.]
I had completely forgotten I had this photo of the Mother Tree. It’s from a time when light leaks like that weren’t trendy yet, so I thought it was just a bad photo. :-P But I also just realized that it’s the only photo I have of the tree at ground level. And it shows the bark patterns really well.
