I don’t understand

Why would the new DSM V autism criteria exclude so many people who currently have the diagnosis?  The DSM V criteria looks almost exactly the same as the DSM IV one to me, except it includes stuff about sensory problems too.

Because it requires a person to have all of the social criteria instead of just some of them.
