Sometimes I feel like they had me followed or something.

Features of Catatonia-like Deterioration
  • Marked slowness of movements
  • Stereotyped movements of body, limbs
  • Turning in circles
  • Rocking foot to foot
  • Bizarre gait
  • Walking without arm swinging
  • Empty copying of movements (echopraxia)
  • Inability to cross thresholds – going back and forth without crossing
  • Repetitive attempts to carry out an action
  • Inability to stop an action once starte
  • Facial grimaces

Catatonia and Autism Spectrum Disorders

(Yes, many of those are true in autistic people in the first place, but they’re talking about things that get amplified or that appear in people they weren’t there in before.)

But seriously… head bent forward, arms bent at elbows and wrists? That’s like.. my exact posture most of the time when I’m walking. Will post video from back when I actually walked more. This is weird and uncanny. (Or, again, I’m absurdly typical of this and had no idea because I hadn’t caught up on the research since 2000.)
