For everyone’s general information:  This only works this way for autistic people with good receptive language skills:  Because they understand language but have trouble processing sound so they look to the lips. Similar tests on autistic people with severe receptive language (not just sound processing) skills showed them looking all over the body.  I could have told them that (since my default state involves zero language comprehension) but they never even try to ask anyone who would actually know things like that from experience.  Since they also believe our skills are constant rather than intermittent so assume none of us would ever be able to answer the question.
