➸ People with milder forms of autism struggle as adults
Some of the article is bunk. And it comes as no surprise to me — someone who follows the research (this is not new) and runs a mailing list for adults with daily living skills problems. (And no it’s not the social skills that cause these problems. It’s the sensory, cognitive, and motor things that cause these problems, that cause also social stuff. Get it right people.) But at least they’re noticing.
I would be really interested in that mailing list, Amanda.
It’s called AutisticDailyLiving at Yahoo groups. Don’t be shocked if: 1. We take forever to add you, and 2. We take forever to get you off moderation (and to clear your posts). I’m barely able to administer the list at all these days, and my co-owner (Joel Smith, you might know him from his old blog and the Murder of Autistics page) has problems of his own. So we try, but we don’t always get things done. So apologies in advance – there’s something about administering Yahoogroups that is just… agonizingly difficult for me.
It’s also not as active as it used to be, so warning about that too. But we try.
