I admire the people who can wade into such discussions.  They pierce me right to the core.  Everyone I spend time with has some form of developmental disability, and I think that gives me a lot more clue than the university of Wikipedia crowd.  Even more so because I see us the way we see each other, not the weird twisty way a lot of family members and professionals see us.  It frightens me that in some ways our entire life is at the mercy of people with beliefs like the people on that blog.  Like this guy I know with a severe/profound ID diagnosis that ER doctors almost killed by leaving alone when he went septic. And I have plenty of similar stories myself. The world is just horrible sometimes.
