The school thing I remember best was when we were studying linguistic anthropology. And we were studying language in all kinds of cultures. And the teacher would talk about language development in “all human infants”. And I’d go “errrrr… that’s not how it worked for me at all”. And she said different things different times, but most of them amounted to “you don’t count. Moving along…”
