➸ Blog tracking causes of death of autistic individuals

Thank you for making an autistic person so upset that she can barely hit the keys to type this.

This is not a blog tracking causes of death in autism. It’s propaganda designed to make autism as scary as possible by claiming that any possible way we die is due to autism. Even when it’s 4-year-olds drowning: a hazard for every toddler. It specifically calls itself “lives lost to autism” and has “autism can be deadly” as its tag line.

But the part that has me so upset that I can barely type, is that the first death I found on there was a murder by the father of an autistic child.

AUTISM DOES NOT CAUSE MURDER. MURDERERS CAUSE MURDER. WHEN PEOPLE BLAME MURDERS OF AUTISTIC PEOPLE ON THINGS LIKW AUTISM, IT RESULTS IN MORE MURDERS. BECAUSE IT MAKES IT SOUND LIKE SOMETHING ABOUT AUTISM MAKES US MURDERABLE.

For fuck’s sake. She’s reaffirming in me the idea that autistic people are not safe anywhere. And for what? To scare people about autism, as part of her larger anti-vax agenda. So not only will there possibly be more murders of autistic people since this ever so slightly makes murdering us more legitimate – more people may die of vaccine preventable conditions. I didn’t realize that last part until I saw the name. But fuck this. This is messed up all the way and it sickens me. I was expecting some useful statistics or something then I got whapped in the face with this.
