If you use statistics like 1 in 80, 1 in 110, 1 in 166 people are autistic — then you do not get to claim that your “epidemic” and “public health crisis” rhetoric is only about “severe autism” or “classic autism” or anything like that. Because those statistics you are using depend heavily on people considered to be “high functioning” or “aspie” or “PDDNOS”. You don’t get to use the whole spectrum for your scaremongering tactics and then tell those of us who challenge you that our viewpoints don’t apply because you’re not talking about people like us.
