Redwoods

I was just thinking, because of posting that giant sequoia picture. For some reason I have a strong preference for coast redwoods over giant sequoias. It’s partly because of where I was born. But there’s something about coast redwoods that reminds me of extremely clear water. In the case of the Mother Tree, the clearest water imaginable. And giant sequoias don’t have that feel to them. And there’s a difference of personality too, that’s hard to explain. I like giant sequoias, but I love coast redwoods. A lot of people seem to respond to the height of both, but the height has never been the issue for me. I wish I could explain it better but I can’t.
