I think that it’s a good idea to start tagging the posts that don’t have image descriptions or transcripts with “accessibility request” if you aren’t in a position to add those accessibility features—or if you need someone to provide accessibility for you. So when someone uploads a video that they keep saying is “a must watch,” you have a way of requesting help with writing a transcript. And if you are able to transcribe things or provide image descriptions, you can track the “accessibility request” tag and provide support when you have the time.

This system is based on the “community accessibility” idea, which basically says that communities as a whole can be made completely accessible even when some individuals within the community aren’t necessarily able to provide accessibility themselves. I also think that it’ll work nicely if you have the energy to start a transcript/image description, but need someone else to complete it. Long videos might even wind up with several contributors.

Definitely. I’m sometimes horrible about being able to provide accessibility, and I feel bad about it but can’t do anything about it. I’ll absolutely use this tag.
