February 13th, two bar-headed geese fitted with collars in Mongolia were seen at Paradgaon lake in India.
Scientists put collars on the geese, which spend summer in Mongolia and winter in India, trying to understand how they migrate over the Himalayan mountains each year. The bar-headed geese fly higher than any other bird and have been seen flying over Mount Everest! They have very large wings to fly in thin air, and their blood holds more oxygen than normal birds with special hemoglobin.
