Fey’s response when I got home.

So I didn’t get to play the violin right after I got home because the moment I got settled, Fey jumped on my chest in a manner that meant she didn’t intend to let me move for awhile.

I’m not sure what made her respond that way. It could have been that taking my violin with me too strongly resembled luggage and she’d feared I wouldn’t come back for a long time. It could have been that this is the first time in almost a year that I’ve gone out with a staff person and come back not smelling like a doctor’s office. I don’t know.

But she sat on my chest and almost melted into me in that way only cats can melt. She grabbed hold of my shirt with her claws to anchor herself even better.

And then she proceeded to snuggle me. Aggressively, emphatically snuggle me. She snuggled me like it was Serious Business (and maybe it was). It involved a lot of face-nuzzling, only far harder than usual. And purring the whole time. Loudly.

And then the biting of course. Not as much as when I leave for a week. She bit me a lot less if I actively scritched her head, much more solidly than usual. So I did.

Eventually she did go away. And I did get to play the violin. But she really seemed to have a level of intensity and purpose to all that snuggling that she rarely has.
