Lost in my Mind TARDIS: Are there any autistic people who approve of the movement to "find a cure?"

Because I’ve never met one, so why do people keep acting like it needs to be cured if all autistic people are like, “hey, don’t do that.”

There’s about 3 or 4 per 10-15 of us and they claim that they’re the…

I’ve met plenty of both. I wouldn’t know what ratio they exist in. But I do know that a lot of the time the places one group hangs out are different from the other (or each place seems to have different ratios, so it’s more complicated than that), so they develop an idea that wherever they hang out is how it always is everywhere.

And yeah both groups often have wildly different ideas about what autism is. (People who want a cure tend to separate it out so all negative autistic traits are autism and the rest are just who they are.)
