Mod note: I have heard that Social Security denies almost every disability claim the first time and that filing a second disability claim (or sometimes even a third) is necessary. -metapianycist Yeah. Keep trying. They try to cut down on costs by rejecting stuff as often as they can, hoping you won’t be able or willing to appeal. I got it on the first try but knowing other people on disability I’m by far the exception even among people who eventually get approved. Also I’m not sure if you had this or not, but one thing I apparently had on my side was a well-documented history of spectacular failures at employment even in fairly sheltered settings designed for disabled people. But maybe even that isn’t enough for them sometimes. :-/
