I’m really getting annoyed at the fact that Tony Attwood, a non-autistic man, is often touted as if he’s the “expert” on women and girls with Asperger’s.

Especially given that I seem to recall at the beginning of all that, way back in time. That his ideas…

Oh geez. I stopped paying attention to him before that book came out. I think I’m glad. It was a great book but hardly universal. And I know enough women who wrote for it that they wouldn’t approve of that use of their writing.

I really really hope that there are way more than just me out there paying attention to the huge diversity of autistic people through either direct contact or reading, or reading about, easily hundreds. Because if there’s not, I fear for autistic people. I don’t have the skills to draw out all this knowledge by myself. And I’m only one person.
