felis corvus: Is rice pudding a breakfast food?

feliscorvus:

Because I have some in the fridge and it looks really good and making (microwave) oatmeal seems too daunting right now for some reason. OOOH and I have blackberries from last week. If they’re not moldy maybe I’ll put them in the pudding. I guess the pudding would at least have some protein because…

I’m the same way about sweet things at breakfast. Plus they directly upset my stomach immediately. Mostly what I eat for breakfast is either oatmeal or grits, then I put Smart Balance (margarine-type stuff that’s supposed to be good for cholesterol) on either one. I eat the same things for lunch. The only “real” meal I eat is dinner, usually something fairly healthy there as well. (Luckily my taste in food mostly tends toward healthy stuff. The only thing I was eating that wasn’t, I just quit buying for financial reasons. And I actually feel a lot less lousy now that I don’t eat it. High fat foods don’t play well with post-cholecystectomy syndrome.)
