So… there’s only one autistic adult in the world, and he can tell you what any autistic kid is going through, by virtue of being autistic?

Sometimes the thing I like least about the hype surrounding autistic writers (me included, I sure as hell didn’t make the hype surrounding me after all) is the idea that we are unique.

And that’s besides the thing where we’re supposedly Universal Translators for autistic children. (Hint: None of us are that. No matter how many autistic people’s experiences we are aware of.)
