Still photos of lightning from a nearby storm. Nearby as in hitting my building periodically. Lightning can look really weird on camera — this one time there was what looked like this giant whoosh of light towards the sky, and stopping the film at those points showed different blocks of the picture light or dark.

And no it is not healthy at all for me to watch lightning but I got curious about taking pictures, and realized even with it flashing every few seconds I couldn’t take still pictures fast enough, so these are screen shots from filming it.

!!! Holy crap! Those pictures are amazing. Especially the second one. Wow. I LOVE lightning and photos of lightning even though I know how destructive it can be sometimes. I’m glad it didn’t hit your building, at any rate.

I’m pretty sure it did hit my building. A lot. But my building is pretty lightning-proof, as most tall buildings have to be. Being the tallest place around, we get hit a lot in most storms. Makes an amazing level of racket from the thunder.
