soilrockslove: When I climbed to the top I ended up sitting under this old Live Oak tree.  Leaning against and feeling the rough bark on my back.  Live Oaks are amazing (no more or less than any other plant, but still).  They have this “deepness” to them.  and they are often in rather stony positions and they just grow there… gracefully.  And their branches are really strong and they don’t have a sense of “one main branch”.  I don’t see many people talking about live oaks, though. It was very good to be up there. Could also see across the canyon petty well. I love coast live oaks. So much I used them in The Oak Manifesto. Unfortunately the graphics for that are down though. They’re in the trees part of my Flickr.
