And the reason isn’t because of all the hands (or if it is, it’s not the fact that they’re hands). It’s something under the surface about the style or the intent or something. I think I get what you mean.  Like… it seems sort of like something that someone would do with the deliberate intent to disturb people? I’ve seen photoshopped pictures of people made to look like they have more than two eyes, with the intent to disturb people.  Weirdly enough, if I imagine it as some kind of sea creature, the little hand thingies don’t bother me.  Like, they could just be tentacles on a miniature anemone or one of those feathery-looking tube worms or something. …although for some reason I was terrified of sea anemones as a kid.  There was this aquarium in a science museum my family used to go to and I would run past the tidepool tank with the anemones while covering my eyes, and scream if anyone tried to make me look at them.  I really can’t remember why I found them so disturbing.  Except I think it had something to do with the fact that a bunch of them were attached to the side of the tank wall, so you just saw the undersides of them, and that was really disturbing for me to some reason.  I got over the fear when I was older, and even started to like pictures of them, but remembering that tank with the anemones stuck to the glass wall still makes me feel a little crawly and icky. It could be that. It’s almost like this flash-like “attempt to manipulate” I’d normally see embedded in advertising or something.
