[Picture of a pale ear, and dark hair.]

I did it.

I stopped picking my ear long enough for it to heal.

Before this, a huge area of it was a constantly open wound. Mostly on parts you can’t see, but spilling into visible parts as well. Both in the canal itself, and more outer areas.

I was worried that whole time that it would get infected. Because a bad enough infection on your head can be really dangerous.

Anyway it took a lot of work to stop it long enough to heal. Not always intense in the sense of white-knuckle determination, because that usually only makes picking worse. But certainly intense in terms of the fairly delicate work involved – more like balancing than anything.

Anyway I’m greatly relieved. Now all I have to do is avoid ripping the skin off of there, which I’ve done even in the absence of anything wrong with it.
