Malfunctioning single proteins can cause disruptions in neuronal junctions leading to autistic forms of behavior. A new study comes to this conclusion after examining genetically altered mice.

This doesn’t make sense. How can mice act autistic? Mice aren’t like humans.

Yeah. Mouse models of autism are outright stupid and I can’t help but be cynical about some of their motivations for claiming they’re useful.
