In many cases I think it’s worse than their voices overrunning us. I don’t even think many of them know we have voices. I’ve seen some of them even act like their child/etc. may not even understand the word or its meaning and it’s their pain as a parent/etc. that makes the word bad.
ETA: And it doesn’t even take understanding the word to get its meaning. The blast of hate speaks for itself.
