Redwoods at Rancho San Antonio (California). Was going to try and get to Big Basin last weekend but got too late of a start, so opted for somewhere closer. There are fewer redwoods there than other types of trees but it’s still very beautiful and there are a handful of redwoods here and there. The ones in this picture are really cool because they’re like a family of little ones grouped around a larger one. :D

Those are probably all genetically one tree. Redwoods can put out sprouts around their base that turn into trees and I think share the same root system. In fact if you see a circle of redwoods around an empty space, the same thing has happened but the original one has died. (Sometimes its even set off by the middle one dying.)
